A little over a month ago I did something a little cray cray and took the leap into making my business a full time gig. Going full time with my business is always something I've dreamed of and intently worked hard towards since starting my business in early 2016. I attempted to take baby steps into the transition by going part-time at my job to make sure I had somewhat of a back up plan. As a new homeowner, financial stability is extremely important to me so my mindset around taking the leap was that it had to be at just the right timing. Initially, my plan was to hold out until after the holidays then re-evaluate whether or not I was ready to do the damn thing. As summer came to a close, a series of events occurred in my life that pushed me towards making the shift a little sooner than I had planned for. I was completely swamped with client work (and loving it) but my part time job was getting seriously neglected. Work/life balance was slightly nonexistent and there was also very little time for me to take care of behind the scenes tasks for my own business. I was exhausted, frustrated, and realizing that trying to maintain a backup plan while trying to grow my business wasn't going to be a combination that would work well for me much longer. After attending Sacred The Brunch, an amazing event for ambitious women, I was completely inspired and motivated to push myself towards my goal even sooner than I anticipated. Literally the very next day, I put in notice at my job and was 100% self-employed by the end of the week. The very last time that I clocked out, I immediately broke down into tears and could not decide if they were from happiness or fear. All I knew was that in that moment, life definitely got very real and would never be the same again.
It's hard.
Of course, nothing worth having will ever be easy. I initially thought that running a full time business and working a full time job was hard, but running a business 24/7 is in fact much harder. When it comes to scheduling and work/life balance, that's where it gets easier. Everything else in between
You can't afford to not be on top of your finances.
Everything requires strategy.

Change my narrative. Keep doing things that make me uncomfortable.
